Lalo This album is utterly astounding - funny, moving, upbeat and more infectious than lice. I cannot stop playing this over and over and over - it's like sunshine with spikes. All the tracks are amazing, but the one that has me jumping about the most, is Unicorn in Uniform. Music to crash your car to :) Favorite track: Unicorn In Uniform.

Daniel Newton Saw these guys at indietracks last year and loved them. This album has been a long time coming, can't wait!

Nathan_is_happening "Hands-down, this record is the most refreshing thing I've heard in at least a year. Makes me want to do somersaults around the neighborhood" - I wrote that a year ago, and this record still brings me to tears. Favorite track: Don't Waste Your Breath (Ft.Perkie).

Shut 03:20
It's like I've failed my teens Now I'm failing my twenties High on anxiety Low on attention Thrown into a world Where everyone acts cold Nobody mentioned There's a million and one things That we'll never make sense of Tell me You ever feel let down Cos I can't stand it I won't sit down While underhanded Self satisfied clowns Ruin everything I don't know why I keep my mouth shut most of the time When I burn inside Regret sets in Now I'm thinking up Perfect responses That will change your mind And I'd change the world One person at a time Remember when things Used to happen to me? Yeah I hated that too Short on motivation To step on dry land Every piece of news Is as bad as the last Slow motion Crumbling to dust Are we numb to the outrage I don't want to be defenceless How much Can you tolerate Cos I can't stand this Adolescent state While I wait Til the damage is irreversible
2.
All look inwards as they march to the centre eyes shut Tourist commuters picture picture postcards (When they’re in they want out) and pretend that they are better than their boring roots suggest Celebrate the markup on things they’ve bought for so much less Trading hours in cubicles for a week sat by the pool Look at them they’ve got it all When we get home we pretend That we’re the only ones in a sea of dickheads Do you ever think we could compete With the myths and the glamour that your so enamoured with? Do you need a holiday from your life? Do you need to get away from youself? Are you content in misery I’ll take you some place you’ve never seen There’s things down the road you won’t believe Past chain pubs and car parks Futures are carved in stone Grey chunks of wasteland will be here long after we’ve gone You wont escape your fate in the meat market There’s too many people you know A race for individuality You’ve got to do it alone Building a community Takes some vulnerability But you’ve got nothing to show
3.
Carefree 02:27
Used to be I could live carefree But now that’s all stopped Things aren’t looking up these days I wish I didn’t care but I do and I try to do more than get by Scrape my knuckles, grit my teeth Cos I don’t know what to do So I’m not just passing through Hoping there’s something beneath The surface of all this I’m not just a witness In the death of all I hold true And pointing and moaning’s not the best That we can do No one wants to be forgotten But I’ll happily rot in anonymity If I’m not alone when I throw these stones Call me a cynic, I’ve no problem being happy But it still gets to me When everything is lumped in a hierarchy It’s the norm to spend our lives Competing for a prize On someone else’s terms When they’ve already won all the money and the bombs And the only way out is emulating them What can one person do Fight their own little corner Until one day we all see some truth Before we end up jaded? No one wants to be forgotten But I’ll happily rot in anonymity If I’m not alone when I throw these stones Shit happens, my mind is feeling empty But I can still pour it out Seems we could go on forever Without another care about The world beyond our own doorstep But I don’t think that’s for the best And I hope I’m not alone Yeah, I hope I’m not alone
4.
They’d have to be just like you To be perfect but then you’d hate them too You collect mixed metaphors You hoard well-worn cliche Cling as if they’re yours In what you think and what you say But it never amounts to much anyway Stuck in structure you Smashed every mirror and You fetishise the truth that you can’t touch Nothing can touch No-one can touch you now As sinister and soft as a spell Laziness or devotion You’ve got no way to tell The worst conspiracies You’ve never heard The ones that ring so true You deny every word Just rehashing some-one else’s snap defence
5.
I’m lost on the high street again Looked down on by the signs Plastic and glass don’t break their stare No matter how you try Forget my life away from these These streets paved with denial Pipe dreams and peer pressure I want to get out I could just give in right now Start life of compromise But someone holds me back and says It’s going to be all right
6.
Bitter Boys 03:23
Feel like I’m running out of melodies To express my thoughts about my enemies If you think you’re right I’ll show you to the door It’s to the left You say everything I do is to hurt you Not every move I make concerns you Must be nice soaking up that sympathy That you’re still getting. I kind of liked you til you said that You seemed okay to me I don’t always see it coming It’s calm before the storm and then I’m Blown away. That’s the price I pay Go ahead and bottle it up Put the lid on I’ll just smash it open Let it spill out so everyone can se That the problem isn’t me, clearly My room’s still a mess You think nothing’s changed since you left I beg to differ, I could not be more happy Only have angry songs written about me Bitter boys making noise between their bedroom walls Gonna collect them up and make a mix cd Probably get more radio play than me
7.
We built ourselves a prison with invisible walls Go looking for them it’s your own fault Hard as you try you’ll never forget them Live in denial or they wont protect you Crafted an empire unconciously Out of greed prejudice and petty tyranny Won’t pretend its natural, there’s better ways to be That dont support themselves off of murder and greed Wont waste my breath Justifying the crimes of bruised and battered egos Or waste my time internalising their past mistakes It’s all we’re supposed to know And oh it shows dont you feel manipulated I wont sit and take it I won’t ever trust them Handing me a shirt and tie for all my dreams to rust in Cos life’s too short life’s too short, to piss away On a way of life so damaging Obsessed with the threat of this debt we’re managing Life’s too short to piss away The odds are stacked against us Competing for work that dont pay much Or at all when it used to waged Just piling more useless skills on our cvs Begging and pleading for a foot in the door Somewhere we never wanted to be Lining up while they dole out more misery Why waste your breath When you could be inflating someone elses ego? Why waste your breath When you could be clinging to this wreckage with a passion Cos it’s all you’ve ever know?

Cat Hair 02:28
Notice myself getting ruder and ruder Planning responses in my head to Bastards I know I’ll meet, on the street, in the pub, at university People are so scared of the F word As if equality offends them and hits them hard Knocks them back in their seat, I won’t accept defeat But find myself silenced instantly But if you’ve already decided to be that closed-minded I’m not gonna pry, I’m not gonna try, I’m not gonna cry over it They say I’m difficult and I’m lazy What do they know? Have you been doing surveys on me? I won’t rise to your discussion board of bullies People are so scared of me, that’s what they say Do my opinions haunt you at night? Did I hit a nerve or just disturb a web of lies you took so long to build? But if you’ve already decided to be that closed-minded I’m not gonna pry, I’m not gonna try, I’m not gonna cry over it
10.
If you’re so different why is your voice just an echo Spitting dominant view after dominant view You use your sex like it’s a weapon It’s so easy to play that card But who’ll respect you When you’re at war with half the world And the other half well they just let you Play the victim But then the next thing I'm losing count of all the stupid shit you’ve said Yeah they’re all bitches Well i guess i’m a bad witness Cos i wont pat you on the back If we’re so important Just fragile egos lashing out Why don’t we all self-destruct? Everyone else is so much dumber Then why do you run for cover? It’s the easiest thing you could do We were in this together But some time apart Brought out the insecurities And now i’ll never feel at ease With you again As if i ever did
11.
Sun in my eyes i can feel At home in this brick and concrete Iknow most of it was never meant to be The way it turned out You take it as a given Saying it’s human nature To fuck up anything good The only thing wrong with human nature Is we listen to people like you There’d be nothing left to aspire to If you had everything your way Trampling problems and contradictions with every step Covering your tracks Covering your dirty tracks Tory boy you cant solve anything We all know your hiding something Tory boy money controls everything But you’ll never have any real friends I've heard your wet dreams Dividing and conquering everything you see Til it’s you and your mates running the country You really think it will make you happy?
